The Final Summit

David Ponder, the last time traveler, hasn't traveled in years and has given up hope, when the Archangel Gabriel returns to him. David must lead a quest to find the answer to save mankind. This book is a sequel to The Traveler's Gift, I had not read the first one, but no need, this one catches you up nicely. I really did like this book, I love the historical characters in today's settings. I liked the journey to find the conclusion, a reminder of strength of character we are capable of as a whole. I found it very inspirational and at times moving. Mr. Anderson's writing style is very engaging and likable. I look forward to reading more of his work.
"The Final Summit explores the historically proven principles that have guided our greatest leaders for centuries, and how we might restore these principles in our own lives...before it's too late." The Final Summit
I received this book free from BookSneeze.. in exchange for my honest review.

What's Important

I asked Mac to hold baby for a few minutes while I finished up something, I have been working on a new blog-Little island Studios, (as you can see, the cleaning has not gotten done ;-) and in the mist of my mind going a hundred miles an hour.   Mac was reading her morning devotions to both her brothers.  Just a reminder to not get too busy with "stuff" and focus on the important things. Have a very blessed day!

Things I Don't Understand

They say, the more you write the better writer you'll be, and to write the things you shouldn't write. Ok fine here we go. I have to say, there is a lot I don't understand. I don't understand how it is perfectly fine for a mother (if that's what you want to call her) to inject her 8 year old daughter with botox, or and get her bikini waxes (do 8 year olds even need them?). Like are you freaking kidding me? And how one mother in Detroit, is not aloud to have a say so in her daughters medical treatments..without her child being taken away? What have we done to our society? Where is our common sense? Have we forgotten who we are? Why do people just take the accepted "wisdom" handed out? Do we not think for ourselves? And apparently when we do...we are punished.

Only when we love people before profit, will this ever change.

Hurricanes and Rainbows

They say there is a rainbow after the hurricane. Think the rainbow is coming out now...Danny's cancer is in remission..(can't they just say it's gone?) We figured as much, but good to hear anyway. He is feeling stronger everyday..

I have been working on a blog/website for my business..harder than it sounds. Doesn't everyone want to have their child's nursery and kid's rooms designed?? Having lots of fun doing it, learning as I go..

Lots of job hunting..thinking perhaps a new job should be...I don't know...near a Margaritaville Restaurant?? heee heeee!(just teasing)

Thank you to everyone who has prayed with us through this and who has supported us. I could never express how thankful we are.

baby laugh

Ohhh, nothing more lovely to hear than a baby's laugh! Even better when he's your baby!

Almost...

Not much here..Danny has PET scan tomorrow, we are very optimistic..weighing a little heavy on our minds though. Lots of job hunting going on too.

Weather is changing, you know you've been in the North too long, when 50 degrees sends the kids outside whooping and hollering.

Noah is 18 weeks..can't believe it! This morning, he thought it was so cool to fling a bowl of Cheerios across the room, laughed so hard! It was an accident of course.

Focusing a lot on cooking, baking and the ingredients in everything. Still can't believe the junk they pass of as food. I made coconut blueberry pancakes for the kids yesterday..(not Noah) tastes better than it sounds. Let me know if you want the recipe ;-) Noah loves organic bananas.

Noah does NOT however, like sweet potatoes!!

That's it for today..need to clean and take Noah on walk..

A Bug Collection DVD Review

Hermie and Friends: A Bug Collection, by Max Lucado
including Milo the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray, Buzby and the Grumble Bees, and Hailey & Bailey's Silly Fight. Stories about praying, behaving and getting along. All three stories have excellent sound effects, music and animation; the voice overs are funny and full of character.

My favorite story in the bunch was Milo and Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray...or should I say didn't know HOW to pray..Milo's snack shack is blown away in a wind storm, and Milo's friends suggest he talk to God about it. Milo thinking he is far too small and insignificant to be noticed by God...comes up with far fetched and quite amusing ideas to get God's attention. All the while, missing the "signs" God is sending him. Milo doesn't get what he wanted in the way he expected...but, received more than what he actually needed.

I think I got just as much out of these stories than the kids did. I would recommend for ages 2 and up. They are lots of fun, without being "preachy"

I received this set for free, in exchange for my honest review from BookSneeze.

Noah is 16 weeks today!!

Noah is 16 weeks today! He amazes us constantly, he's so happy and well adjusted. Going to be an early talker..big surprise..as we are all big on verbal communication, LOL.

Danny went to Dr. yesterday..getting his blood regulated before he goes for a scan..

I am getting some since of routine and schedule back..continuing my research on foods, and now child vaccines. I refuse to take other people word for these most important things. Not much for following the "crowd".

Also, working lots on my design..getting a blog ready..stay tuned! ;-)

Have a lovely week everyone...Spring is almost here.

Birthday Weekend!

Not much new or exciting to blog about..but, then again that's ok..calm is..well, calm. Kind of like it. I'm back to working on my design stuff. Need a kids room designed?

Danny is still feeling bla...but, knowing no more treatments is a huge weight off his shoulders.

The kids have been busy with their studies and things here..looking forward to Spring and warmer weather. Ready to be out and about. MacKenzie is so excited for her birthday weekend!! Baking, movies and playing :-)

Noah is getting so big, he changes everyday. He loves to "talk"!!

Here

Getting ready for Macks birthday this week! She wanted Danny to be done with treatments by her birthday...she gets her wish :-) yay!! Tomorrow is last treatment for Danny! Then a couple weeks of tests...so please continue your prayers.

I am so thankful to everyone who has prayed and supported us. So thankful. I have so much running through my mind..and I'll put it in words soon...if I can.

Noah turned over last night...he did it in his sleep...so might take him a week to do it on purpose, LOL. He is the happiest baby!

Happy Valentines Day

Noah 13 weeks!

Woke up feeling a little stuffy and bla...that's what I get for feeling so smug about keeping us all healthy through this with Danny.

I think we all are starting to feel a little "re-newed"...looking forward to his last treatment..(you know what I mean). It's been so long since our "normal" was...well..normal.

We appreciate everyones support and prayers through this...would love to hear from everyone who reads this..email or leave a message here. Thank you, thank you!

Ohhhh, only one more left!! Wooooo hooooo! Danny had his 11th treatment yesterday. Watching Danny go through this has been so hard..can't even describe it. Please continue to pray for him, all of us.

Noah is doing great, he'll be 13 weeks tomorrow! He's such a great baby!! We've been very busy, homeschooling, job hunting nothing really new (sorry to bore you:-)just looking forward to Spring!

doing good

I took this pic this morning during pancake breakfast. Ohhh, Noah is so happy, such a sweet baby. Everything is going good..no job yet. Danny running slight fever but, feeling good..didn't even know about the fever. So, hopefully he won't get a cold or anything. Feeling a little stuffy myself :-(

Anyway, he'll have next to last treatment this week. Blech! Almost through..

Kids are doing good...Mac is working on an evening gown for herself..she's very excited ;-) Danny and Derek are...well....playing video games..something about Black Ops..LOL. Noah taking yet another nap. Sounds good actually.

Now Mac wants to be a fashion designer AND a dentist now (she went to the dentist earlier this week who is a friend of ours..and loved it) LOL

Hope everyone is doing good and thank you for your continued prayers. Thank you so much!!

January

Busy and hectic week..Noah is 10 weeks and such a sweet baby! Very good natured and happy, always laughing and smiling..wants to talk..he fits right in! LOL

Danny had 10th treatment this week (2 left). Had an allergic reaction to one of the drugs..after something to counteract it...he's doing good. The "symptoms" of the chemo has lasted a little longer this time. But, as always I'm amazed at how well and with such grace (is that the word I'm looking for?) he handles everything.

Started working out this week...yay me. Really need it..physically and mentally :-)
Have a great week everyone!!

Noah

Did anyone else roll over this morning and find a wet diaper between the sheets that somehow didn't get thrown away in the middle of the night, a leaky bottle and a wet outfit? No? Just me then.

The only time Noah even gets remotely fussy is about 9 or 10 at night..just when I want to go to bed and watch Modern Family on dvd...it's like he knows! After that he does great and actually sleeps through the night.

Today he figured out if he kicks his feet the bouncy seat moves. He especially likes an orange monkey in his sisters room. Loves books very much. His favorite right now seems to be The Hungry Caterpillar..(certain pages of it), Dream Snow, and The Best Mouse Cookie.

Today it is snowing hard and the kids (not Noah;-) are out playing in it. I think I'll bake. Have a to do list for January..so far only gotten a couple things done on it. I'd really just rather redesign all the kids rooms...paint, fabrics...ohhh, maybe that's what I'll do today.

Happy New Year!

We had a good holiday week, rented a couple movies and had a fire in the fireplace...very nice! Kids had a good break and back to homeschool this week.

Today we made soup for Danny while he was at his 9th treatment, actually I made the soup, Noah napped and Derek and Mac made a movie. Not sure who directed this one. Should probably take note as I'm sure it'll be on Leno..(is that still on?) Haven't watched tv in a while. Danny's relaxing now. Only 3 left. Can. Not. Wait.

I'm working on my patience and where does God want me..? Am I doing what I'm supposed to be doing? Is it enough? Think I should be doing more. I need a kids room to design...ahhhh. Any advice on how to move forward??

Very, very thankful for our friends. Thank you we are blessed :-)

I'll write more this week..whole wheat, oatmeal, chocolate cookies are ready to get out of the oven (they're better than they sound) and Noah is getting up from his second nap. :-)
